Barcelos has been weaving terry for longer than anyone there can remember. The mill we use makes towels for hotels most of the year and fits our orders in between.
Six hundred grams
A towel is weighed by the square metre. Most bath towels sit around four hundred grams. Ours are six hundred, so they take longer to dry on the line and do not feel thin by the second winter.
The stripes are woven in, not printed. Wash them at sixty and leave out the softener: it coats the loops and they stop drinking.
