The first fitted sheets we made had elastic at the corners only, like most. By the third night one corner had climbed onto the mattress and stayed there.
All the way round
Now the elastic runs the full edge, and the pocket is cut deep enough for a thick mattress with a topper on it. It takes longer to sew and longer to fold.
There is no trick to folding it. We roll ours.
